Marching Orders

Stop The Madness

Stop the madness, save the land,
Save the woman, save the man
That all those babies could have been;
Abortion's one enormous sin.

Save the girl, save the boy
That could have brought a lot of joy
To the lives adopted in it,
A family, where the child could fit.

Who can tell what could have been
If those lives had not been killed by sin.
Colds could be cured, cancer mended,
If those lives had not been ended.

Potential lies in every tissue,
Made of every parent's issue.
But twenty years have ended millions
Of lives that could have saved our land.

For every life is used some way
To help the world on any given day.
Whether or not that life becomes the Lord's,
Whether or not that life is in God's will.

There are Many Things You Can Do to Fight Against Abortion

Pray that God will bring an end to abortion.

Pray for our Government officials.

Before voting, obtain information on political candidates' stand on abortion from groups like local chapters of the National Right to Life Committee.[3]

Get on the mailing list of your local Right to Life Group to receive updates on crucial legislation.[3]

Ask for guidelines on how you can become an effective citizen lobbyist.[3]

Write or e-mail your senators and representatives and urge them to take a pro-life stand. Encourage and thank them when they do. Find your elected officials

Call the White House Opinion Line: 202.456.1111 and speak out about current abortion issues.

Write to newspapers, magazines, and TV and radio stations to express your opinion of their abortion coverage.[3]

Consider adopting an "unwanted child."[3]

Financially support Christian Legal Groups fighting against abortion rulings.

Volunteer as a pro-life liaison for your church or Sunday school class. Suggest guest speakers, distribute pertinent information and inform of upcoming abortion legislation.[3]

Get permission to make pro-life books and materials available in the church foyer and library.[3]

Encourage ministry to and support for those who decide to keep and parent their children[3]

Suggest having your church support your local Crisis Pregnancy center financially as a "local mission."
[3]

Train to be a volunteer counselor for your local Center.[3]

Contribute personal finances, gather maternity clothing and newborn supplies for mothers keeping their children, or organize fundraising activities with the proceeds going to the Center.[3]

Talk to your teenage or preteen daughter (and son) about the issues.

Open your home to an expectant mother in need.[3]

Volunteer to be trained for pro-life education presentations to schools and civic groups.[3]

Attend public hearings on pro-life issue.[3]

Consider being trained to counsel crisis pregnancies in peaceful pro-life demonstrations at abortion clinic sites.[3]

Abortion on demand is just one symptom of our Country's moral breakdown. " ... Bible-believing Christians, in the last 40 years, who have said they know that the final reality is this infinite personal God who is the Creator, have done nothing about it as the consensus has changed."[23]

But it's not too late to help change this trend: In the abortion struggle, you can help by applying what you do best to the promotion of nonviolent pro-life activities. The struggle may seem hard and sometimes discouraging, but you can make a difference and you can save lives. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. - Galatians 6:9 NIV

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. - 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Evils such as slavery and Nazism have passed away; if we all do what we can to eliminate it, abortion will also pass away. There are signs that the tide seems to be turning against abortion.
