Separation of Church and State

The Aftermath of the "Separation of Church and State" ruling

"Most of the Supreme Court Justices didn't live long enough to see the full impact of their decision in 1962: kids on drugs; violence so bad that teachers in many schools are afraid to flunk students for fear of their lives; rampant sex, even at the elementary levels, with its accompanying venereal diseases; and an epidemic of teen suicides. And we call this progress" (Local Solutions, Whatever happened to the American Dream — Larry Burkett, Moody Press, 1993)

Other consequences of the "Separation of Church and State" principle include:

Over 6,000 cases in court challenging religious expression in public[48]
Restriction of the influence of Christian ideas
Prohibition of public prayer
The fostering of Scriptural ignorance
Promotion of Atheism - the new "State Religion"
A big cover up our Godly heritage
Over a 500% increase in teenage pregnancies[48]
Over a 794% increase in violent crime[48]

In summary, the point cannot again be again emphasized too strongly that the First Amendment was intended to protect the church from government interference; it in no way intended that religious influence should be kept out of public life.[2]
